Once upon a time in the days of old most of the village people of Kos lived up in the mountain areas of Zia Lagoudi Assomatos Linopotis & Agios Dimitrios.
These little villages survived on farming tomatoes especially there once was a large tomato factory on the island olives pressing them and selling the oil or selling them whole. Fruit local wines and nuts such as almonds and walnuts were also exported. Dairy farm products from the goats especially feta cheese and the milk and meat from the cows.
