When you arrive in Kefalos village, turn left at the square. There is a parking lot behind the local town hall which is beside the playground.
From the parking area turn left, continue on the main road which will take you past a couple of schools a football pitch and out of the village.
After walking for 1.8kms you will come to an area called “Palatia” This is the point where the following 5 walks begin. (There is an area under a big pine tree where you could leave your car if you didn’t want to have the 1.8km walk out of the village. For the 5th walk I recommend leaving the car in the village.)
WALK 1: ASPRI PETRA / WHITE ROCK
From the crossroads at Palatia, turn left. After you have walked 1.7kms, you will come to the sign for Aspri Petra / White Rock. The cave at Aspri Petra was excavated in 1922, their findings there date back to 3000BC. There is a fork in the dirt road at 0.7kms, take the road to the left, the cave is approximately 2 kms from there.
WALK 2: AGIOS IOANNIS / ST. JOHN’S
This walk takes you up into the mountain area, where there are fantastic views, and ends at a monastery where the locals have a celebration on the 28th of August. When you arrive at the crossroads at Palatia, turn left. Although the sign says 6kms, it is really 4,7kms. There are signs along the way, just say on the paved road till it ends.

WALK 3: PANAYIA STILOTI
At the crossroads at Palatia, turn right. Take in the lovely views as you walk along the paved road. After 0.7kms, you will come to a gravel road on the left. A sign is there for Panayia Stiloti, the locals have a grand celebration there for the Virgin Mary on August 15th. 1km down the gravel road, keep to the left, continue walking for 0.2 kms where you will arrive at the church.
WALK 4: AGIOS THEOLOGOES
At the Crossroads at Palatia, turn right. As you walk along the paved road for 4kms, you will enjoy views of the beautiful countryside. You will see some small churches along the roadside. Continue on passed the taverna, along the gravel road, 0.4 kms, and you will see Agios Theologoes, a small church built by the seaside. When you are leaving the church, and you come to the fork in the road, take the road to the right and after 2 kms, you will meet the main road, turn right and head back to Palatia.
WALK 5: PROPHET ILIAS CHURCH / WINDMILLS
From Palatia, take the dirt road behind the large tree. After 0.3 kms, take the road to the left ,you will walk passed the garbage area. There is a fork in the road after 1.4kms, stay to the right. You will come to a crossroad after 2 kms., cross over the road and head straight up to the windmills. You will see the church once you get to the top of the hill, about 1.5 kms. The views from this point are spectacular! When you head back down the hill and come to the crossroads, turn left, after 0.4 kms you will come to a fork in the road, go right. After 1 km you will arrive in the village of Kefalos, carry on this road till it ends, turn right and you will come to the main road near the children’s playground.
